LLL Meetings are for any mothers interested in breastfeeding...whether you are pregnant, have a new baby, or are an experienced breastfeeding mom, LLL meetings are for you!

All meetings are led by one or more La Leche League Leaders.

LLL Leaders are mothers who have breastfed their own babies and have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to offer information and support to other breastfeeding mothers.

Some of us have newborns and toddlers ourselves, while others have been helping mothers breastfeed for decades.  Since we are volunteers, we weave our LLL work into the rhythm of our family, home, school, or professional lives.

We are available to answer your breastfeeding questions via phone, email, social media or support group meetings.

We rotate through a series of four topics:

  • The Advantages of Breastfeeding to Mother and Baby

  • The Baby Arrives: The Family and the Breastfed Baby/Bringing Baby Home: The First 6 Weeks

  • The Art of Breastfeeding/Avoiding & Overcoming Common Difficulties & Challenges

  • Nutrition and Weaning

Topics are a general guidline for discussion but your questions and concerns always take priority.  Since we are all expanding our knowledge of mothering and family life, no two series meetings are exactly alike.

No, you do not have to be an LLL member to attend meetings or receive support.  LLL Meetings & services are always free.  If you enjoy our meetings and find our services helpful, we hope you will choose to support LLL by becoming a member.  To become a member or donate, click here.

Your baby is always welcome at LLL meetings, in fact as Leaders it is very helpful to observe your baby's behavior at the breast as we attempt to help you!  We have a toy box to help entertain mobile babies and toddlers but feel free to bring your own quiet activities for your children if you wish to do so.  Our Whittier meeting is held in a room with access to a fenced playground.  Older children are welcome but many would have more fun staying with a grandparent or babysitter.  Please feel free to meet the needs of your children during our meetings; we will make sure you don't leave without your questions being answered so if your baby needs you, don't have FOMO (fear of missing out)!

Yes! We encourage pregnant mothers to attend our meetings in preparation for breastfeeding.  Knowledge is power!

We understand that you may not be available during our current meeting times.  We are always evaluating our meetings and their accessibility so we can have the biggest impact on the most mothers possible.  With many LLL groups hosting their meetings online, location isn't as big of a factor.  Please feel free to join any/all online meetings, regardless of location if the timing works well for you.  Keep in mind that you can always ask questions on our private Facebook group or contact a Leader directly.
